They serve world cuisine in this place
Eating Out: Atiroopa
An ethnically done-up restaurant, replete with intricately carved pillars and puppets may not sound like the right place to dig into Vollaile Holestine, a continental chicken dish. But at Atiroopa, the newly opened restaurant at Aalankrita on the road to Shamirpet, the serene, traditional ambience only enhances the eating experience.
Incidentally Aalankrita already has two other restaurants — Aashna and Prakruta. Only this time, Atiroopa will have an exhaustive menu sprinkled with the choicest of dishes from the Continental, Middle-Eastern, Indian and Chinese fare.
And like the food, the menu too is unusual here. The Tavern Stimulants make for perfect starters, especially if you opt to relax with a drink. However, while the food menu here is extensive, the bar menu is rather limited.
The vegetarians can opt for lasooni dhingri, garlic stuffed, crisp-fried mushrooms or Zin Dao, a Burmese snack, which has the distinct flavour of garlic. For the non-vegetarians chapli kebab Lahori — minced meat cutlets from the kitchens of ancient Turkey, is a good option.
For the main course, you can opt for the short, but interesting selection of pizzas or pastas. Do check out the Lasagne Verdi, spinach pasta layered with tomatoes and minced meat, if you have a liking for Italian food. These apart, there is a huge selection under the head Chef Recommends.
Try Legume Princess, an assortment of vegetables and fruits baked with cheese sauce, all-time favourite methi chaman, the usual dals and various vegetables cooked in rich gravys.
The meat-eaters are bound to have a tough time choosing as there are the Grilled Tiger Prawns, Baked Fish Alaska, Chicken Satay, Mehshwi, Middle Eastern fried and grilled chicken, Roast Lamb Yorkshire, pot roasted lamb racks served with Yorkshire pudding and mint sauce, Nesi Goreng, Indonesian chicken fried rice flavoured with coriander.
Like all good things, the food here comes with a price. A meal for four could cost anything between Rs 1,000 and 1,250.
