Can anybody give the correct picture about the percentage of different state people other than Telugu people here. I see so many associations. While I was travelling in bus no. 8C from Charminar to Sec_bad station, one old person told me that there are 20 lakh marwaris here. Even he doesn\'t know the story behind it. I see a huge number of Tamil persons here with Christian names etc. I am seeing so many young persons from Orissa working in the bars and restaurants. I read from the history that Maratha raids weakened the Late Nizams very much. Still so many Marathas are going around. Can anybody tell the correct official statistics about the different percentages? But still when I leave this city maybe after one year I will definitely feel depressed - depressed like a bride leaving her mother\'s house.

Well I am relatively new to this place ... been around for like 6 months ... so here are my two bits. Hyderabad is defvtly very very very very clean. People are less pretentious .. and very much down to earth. Hyderabadi hindi rawwwks \\m/....and yea fullhyd r00lz/

Well,I am new here so here goes....
Hyderabad is a much quieter place without the pompt and show of places like Bangalore and Mumbai. People are friendly and caring. Neighbours don\'t poke their noses unneccessarily unlike Chennai. Auto service is good unlike Chennai. Rates are far cheaper than Mumbai and Bangalore.

My only grouses are:

Bus services are bad and infrequent unlike Chennai or Mumbai.
AND
You cannot get a girl here for some weekend fun unlike Bangalore. This is a DULL WEEKEND :-(

Dear Mickey, let\'s not spew grudge against any city. In Chennai people poke to each other so that we feel more social to each other. Definitely I will say Bangalore and Bombay are arrogant when compared with Chennai. You generally get your job done in Chennai easily, but not in Bangalore or Bombay. Don\'t blame any city just like that.

Hyderabad is like heaven! The laid back attitude of the people and the chalta hai attitude is really cool. The best still in Hyd is biryani and irani chai. Aaj nahi to kal karlenge is really predominant here. Hotels are open well past midnight and people who you have met only once or twice still greet you with a aadab. Aadab kairiyat kya.

that\'s right man, but can\'t u make out \"being social\" from \"being unfriendly\"? i\'d been to chennai twice or thrice and i had very bitter experiences... and the worst part is, most of them can\'t speak any other language other than tamil. and any initiative to make friends is faced with a curt reply. hyderabad is faaaaaaaaar better than Chennai in that respect. believe me, i got lots of friends whom I met while travelling in a city bus...

Tamilnadu and Kerala have more people are going abroad. Maybe towards Singapore, Malaysia and the Gulf countries. So they generally love speaking in their language and in English. I am absolutely clear that you, \Cowboy\', are wrong about Chennai people not knowing English. It is true that this Southern tip does not accept the mainland language, mainland food and mainland ideas, but you have to adjust to the situation man.

Amazing city, ever changing (for the better), the irani cafes, eat all the samosas u want and return the rest, inexpensive movie theatres, tank bund necklace road, parklane, the people!!
