we have a son aged 10 yrs scrpio by star.. he is hyperactive and very intelligent, but never applies his mind fro studies... if applies gets 85 pct.. the problem is he never listens to parents or elders,, he argues for everything we ask him to do...he gets is a rage and destroys what evey he gets into his hands.. and later cries loud... he often gets very angry and throws a big tantrum,,,we are unable to contain him.. if we refuse to buy him chips, he steals money and gets what he wanted... he does not eat his food properly,,because of him we are getting a argument every day, and we do not know what is store for the next second,,,,friends please help us to change this budding person into a good personality/./.

dear sri, u don live in india i guess.....this happens with many children at that age.....and its not any abnormal symptom....may b professional councelling is required in extreme cases, if the child is suffering from any mental disorder......but this is too common a thing that happens...i don think this thing needs any sort of consultation with paediatric or pshychiatrist....just think how many children arnd u of that age...do not do any mischief(or nuisance, what ever u call)....if the child resorts to activities like stealing money....its definitely the mistake of parents...they should warn him abt this....and keep money out of his reach...hell soon learn.....try to keep him in displined conditions....

I would say spend more time with him, play with him, don\'t keep bugging him to do his academics all the time. Set aside some play time and study time as well. And if he doesn\'t listen to you then tell him you won\'t talk to him and don\'t talk to him. Silence is the worst punishment a child can evertake. He might throw tantrums atthe monment but don\'t confront him, leave him alone and stop talking to him .DOn\'t say a WORD. HE will cry and do all sorts of things to get your attention but don\'t give up adn don\'t talk to him. This always works. Aftera while he will realize and will never repeatit.

Hope this little tip helps you!!

Good luck to you!!
