Dangerous link between medical reps and doctors

by poor patient » Sun May 19, 2002 12:30 am

now a days the medical representatives of both
big and small companies without humanity throw huge benifits to doctors (gifts etc) so that unnecessary medicines are being prescibed by which both the companies and the doctors are benifited.but patients are gone
what is your view?

Dangerous link between medical reps and doctors

i have 2 opinions on this
1.It is a heinous crime commited by the most lecherous( who ...docs..) on the patients....
2. c\'mon man, we hardly pay at the most Rs.100 to a doc when we visit him,....why the fuss all about...My sympathies go fer all the docs, in India who struggle to make there living, just because we dont pay or probably even know as to what a medical insurance is all about

Dear Luci, the real leeches are not the doctors but the selfish money-minded businessmen who started medical colleges and the nonmedico politicians who gave permission after accepting huge money.

c\'mon Indian doc ....had the govt made insurance also compulsory for all the citizens, and every time the patient visits the doctor, if it was the insurance paying the doctor, and not the patient himself.......the whole scenario would have been different, and then again the people will start saying\"vaidyo narayana hari\" I just hope for this....finally even with the so called pvt medical colleges....wat is the ratio of a doc to population????

Mr.Lucifer> now I am sure that you are working as an insurance agent, because where ever I have seen your comments ,you were not behind in publising the medical insurance companies, instead of going out of track ,why not concentrate on poor patient\'s comment ? So you mean that doctors suck only to those who doesn\'t have medical insurance? Mr.Lucifer there is no limit for the greed of money.

Its been ages since a doctor prescribed unnecessary stuff for me...

some few hundred years ago I remember a doc prescribing erythromycin for a simple fever...

and at the GH in Pondicherry, the resident doctor prescribed penicillin without as much as even asking me if I was allergic to it... not even the course... just one tablet!!!!!

For every good Doctor, there are 50 bad ones. we have to just take the good with the bad. If they make a few extra bucks while they are dong their jobs, I really don't mind.

Indian Doctors are cheap and kind and wonderful compared to Doctors from other countries.

this will be FOC to me I hope... and what worries you? The fact that I'm old enough to talk about what happened a few hundred years ago? Come on... don't make me give out my age.
