letter to Mr Masala,
Dear MASALA,
This madarasi and hyderabadi talk seems to be irregular and painful to me.
This is a very simple fact that we are shitting over each other.
I have been in Public sector organisation for more than 7 years duration.
Whenever senior staffs from north identifies a person from any of the 4 states AP, KA, Kearla, and Tamilnadu , they used to mention them as Madarasi only. More precisely, they generally call all the south Indian youngsters as madarasi.
Dear Ms/Mr Tommy
i just dont see a point in being hurt when some one calls u a madarasi or a south indian, asa a matter of fact, i d be proud, and if they have a superiority complex, i guess its purely their problem. we have a constitution which believes in equal opportunity, if not more opportunity to a few, but it is not based on regional differences, which ia a good thing.
well, coming to the point, when i said that silk smitha was a madarasi as against a telugu lady, it was just regional, as were my comments about CAD.......well, if i live in some part of the world for a long time, i ll definitely associate myself with that place. thats all i meant when i made my comments.
but u did bring up a good point of racial discrimination here in ur post. and that would surely be cos of the history and the preent with people like Karunanidhi who are strictly against hindi as the national language and fight for a regional cause.
well. i am neither a medic nor a neurtal man, but then, these are my opinions
no defence.
Please believe me I have never heard of any body using the term Hyderabadi in CENTRAL GOVT circles.
I have seen young Andhra guys especially from My Rayaluseema and other southern districts struggling to speak Hindi in their initial period of appointment at my company's northern branch offices.
However, it is a terrible fact that terminology- madarasi is mostly positioned on inferior side in central circles.
This is a very painful and unacceptable fact.
In my service in the initial part I had been teased, side stepped and ignored by dirty minded guys like kanpuris, Himachalis, and Punjabis (worst).
Time is healing.
In central circles, Punjabis are the worst groupies. They think themselves high and interact with in their sub circles. Money and enormous regional wealth is their power.
Personally, nowadays if somebody behaves in a different way, I give him or her back very nicely.
Former chief minister Sri Chandra Babu Naidu wanted to convert the city Hyderabad officially the Metro status. He invited MNCs and so many business organisations.
I do not know whether he succeeded totally in that or not. However, in his 10 years period there had been enormous influx of personnel from all other states mostly Punjabis.
Whenever I go to higher end clubs or pubs, nowadays I sporadically see Punjabi/ bihari sitting there and commenting the Andhra/south Indian food as spicy, dirty blob blob etc etc.
Bi then I had very embarrassing position then.
When somebody does not talk to us directly, how can we give him or her back?
One day we did polite thing. My colleague and I sat near such guy and covered both our ears continuously for 5 Minutes. That guy got out of the pub after awhile.
Please,
I request all of you not to misread my above letter.
I am a medic, a neutral man.
