i agree jackal

by ScorpioUno » Tue May 03, 2005 7:27 pm

i agree that kill bills were supposed to be grose. i know other comic movies are unbelievable too. the question is not "is it believable or not"... the question is "does it appeal to everyone or at least almost all or if not that, to nearly all"...

as far as critics go, they may or may not like a movie liked by everyone else. thats what they do, cos they are 'critics'. its not necessary that their reviews are accurate enough always.

and yes i do know reservoir dogs, pulp fiction, jackie brown and other movies as well. i know what hes known for. just bcos hes famous doesnt mean that everyone can go and have fun in his movies. they only appeal to a certain section of the viewers. those movies are given those ratings to warn people to be advised that its not for everyone. but that doesnt mean anythin in particular again. if anyone likes that kind of movie, they can watch it. its upto them.

i give the review based on whether most people will be comfortable watching them and not from the view of a critic or an expert reviewer, which i am not.

i only wanted to help people decide if they wanted to go to a particular movie. take your own example. i didnt leave out the fact that there is a lot of outrageousness in the movie in the review that i posted. if you hadn't known QT, which is highly unlikely, you could have known from the review that this would be a movie you'd probably like. i am not just posting reviews. i am also mentioning what kind of movie it is without giving out the plot of the movie so that others can see the rating and also what kind of movie it is to decide if they want to go or not...

if you want to help them out too, please post your opinion on the movies too. its always good to have more than one person reviewing the movies...

Minor nitpick Jacko, KB2 is not a sequel to KB1. Its a single movie, but lengthy by hollywood standards. so it was split into two parts and the second part released later. same with Lord of Rings I,II,III.

CAD, i know you told me not spoil any movie for anyone, but this doesn't even require that.
you just cannot go onto the white house in just 5 modified hummers, even if its for saving the president. especially not if you are just one dumb jackass with a few brothers from the hood.
and peter strauss is not even anywhere near being at least 'ok' playing the president. he looks like a lost confused soul blabbering whatever comes into his mind.
if you go to this movie, just watch the stunts and come out. dont complain that the movie was bad as i have already warned you not to go to it.
rating? 2 out of 10 the 2 is for the stunts.
Thank god,you gave this a bad reveiw.I will give it a 1.It SUCKED...........The graphics on my Everything or Nothing game were much better than this(I am not kidding, the graphics at one scene looked like a cartoon).Oh and there is a scene in the movie where xxx goes after William Dafoe, and WD is on a train and xxx is on a car.....for the people who have played EON....does this scene remind you of something????Yeah.....the scene where Bond goes after WD in EON,pathetic.....And the graphics were better in the game.

And I agree w/ Scorpio that the reveiw on FH didnt do the movie justice.

kb2

by ScorpioUno » Thu May 05, 2005 2:39 am

i agree that the graphics are real bad jackal. i only said that the stunts were ok.

about kb2, it didnt show her caring nature. it showed how vulnerable she was and how weak she was. if someone destroys your family and life the way the villain did to her life, you wouldn't stop at anythin. the right thing to do would be to kill him and take her son back right away instead of putting up all the drama. but then, its the writer of the movie who decides that and the character of thurman is so forgiving that she could do that and theres nothin we can do abt it :o

well jackal, you and me have different views on this. thats all...

not comparing the 2 halves, but after a rather good and thrilling buildup, the ending was rather tame and soap-operaish

i was expecting some good fights by Carradine (Bill). he was famous for his action packed films in the 70s and early 80s and is a martial arts expert...maybe i am disappointed...

splinter cell

by ScorpioUno » Thu May 05, 2005 12:55 pm

this is for the xbox. i know that splinter cell is an old game, but i haven't played pandora's theory and chaos theory yet. i'll play them soon... splinter cell is one of THE best games. it is so damn addictive, you sit glued to the idiot box to which the xbox is connected. the hero - the player's character - is a government agent and is a splinter cell in himself - the government operates these individuals who are extremely talented and trained like noone else who live among other people as normal citizens but are actually killing machines who can be activated any time the goverment requires them to. they operate individually, never as a team and have the most risky job as the government will just deny that you ever existed if you are caught by the enemy. yet you are sent deep into their territories to destroy entire empires. the game depends totally on stealth. you need to rely on the shadows in the game and the tiptoeing. unlike other games, it is recommended that you save you ammunition to take out the "lights" rather than the people. once you take out the lights, others cannot see you but you will have nigh vision and thermal goggles to see in the dark. you need to sneak up on ur enemies, and you can do it in awesome style. the hero has a damn cool realistic costume that can only be beaten by the master chief's costume from HALO. as i said, stealth is the name of the game. you try to blast your way through... YOU will get blasted!!!

i cannot wait to get my hands on pandora's box and chaos theory.

the next xbox review will be 'deus ex invisible war'

Deus Ex Invisible War

by ScorpioUno » Thu May 12, 2005 10:44 pm

hi guyz

i know i am very late this time but i've been a bit busy. i finished my masters and graduated last week.

today's review is about the game "Deus Ex - Invisible War". though i am writing about the deus ex for the xbox, i think this game is also available for the PC. i played and completed the first part of Deus Ex on my cousin's PC while i was in Hyderabad. its a great game with a cool story. the story continues into the sequel and is as good as the first one. i felt the second part was a bit easier than the first one.

the game is about JC Denton, a modified agent working for a secret government agency. there are many others like him and the kind of work that is done in the company that develops the mods for ppl like him has a formidable foe in a religious sect that makes its opinion heard - do not mess with human genetics - by destroying anyone makin the mods. you get engrossed in the story but again, not quite as well as in the first part. even though i played the first part on a PC and the second part on the xbox i feel that the excitement of the first part is lacking in the second. still its a good game. get it if you have played all the better ones. its still better than many games available.

the most impressive thing that carries on from the first game to the second one is the availability of many mods and many many cool weapons. 8)

NFS

by ScorpioUno » Thu May 12, 2005 10:50 pm

Need for Speed is one of the best car racing games ever. i've playe dmany other games too but i haven't yet seen one that matches the awesome fun that you can have in NFS. i finished all the levels and all the tracks that they have to offer even in the advanced mode and still dont get bored playing them. i haven't got the underground version of nfs cos i've heard its way too good, much more better than the other NFS games and it is naturally much more addictive. i know that if i get that, i'm gonna sit for weeks in fron of the tv non-stop tryin to finish it. so i've been putting off gettin the game. i hope i'll have the time soon enough for that. if you want to have a great time with your friends playing a multiplayer game, this is the one. but make sure you have a damn fast system if you plan to play on a PC cos the graphics in NFS are quite demanding and your computer may cough and sputter to keep up with the game. i have the PC version of NFS hot pursuit 2 which can be played on a system with average performance. if anyone wants it, post a message and we'll see how to get it to you.

Cinderella Man

by ScorpioUno » Thu Jun 09, 2005 11:00 am

Cinderella Man is a good movie. I went with low expectations but it turned out to be a great one. Not because of the fights. Of course, they were good too... but what was more worth watching was James Braddock's efforts in holding up his family and supporting them through some very hard times and to what lengths he went to keep the family together even foregoing his pride. this movie gets a 7 out of 10.

Contrary to what the ad campaign might persuade you to believe, House Of Wax is not a porn film starring Paris Hilton. That is available separately. fullhyd.com, being more or less a legal site, cannot provide you a link there, but Google will - search for "Paris Hilton" (yes, that's enough). Just make sure you don't watch it in front of your kids. If you are the kid, then make sure you don't watch it in front of your adults. It is also illegal, so it might not be a great idea to call up Hilton's lawyers and tell them you watched it, and then give them your name, full address and telephone number.
