My dream pub is much like the ones described above, but I would like just one itsy-bitsy addition. I would like a giant screen......no, not for movies, but for sports.
I would love watching a game on a huge TV with a large bunch of friends screaming our asses off in satisfaction or disgust, whilst the waiters brings in the beer, vodka, whisky without being told to.
OK, i'm only going to say this once, you've gotta listen to me cos future generations of drinkers might depend upon it.....
waiter and pub are mutually exclusive. Unless he's popped in for a pint after work, there should be no waiters in a pub. the staff of a pub should consist of 1 head barman + additional barmen as required. in most cases 1 barman will be enough during the daytime, with an extra few on at night to cope with the extra crowd, collect glasses, etc.
It's not a matter of economics its a matter of atmosphere. going up to the bar to get your drink is an integral part of the pub experience. just because labour is cheap in India doesn't mean you go throwing waiters into pubs and think it makes them better! it just turns them into bloody restaraunts.
