Iska to nai pata, but evertime Pak used to lose, I would be humiliated by my friends that my 'brothers' had lost.

I got very hurt and irritated initially, but then I learnt that such people will always be around, people like you.

Well, that was a nice post at last. I am not a rarity, it is the other kind that is a rarity. If you think that Old city is full of pro-muslim people, then you should venture out of Hyderabad, to anyu other place where muslims are a minority, and you will understand how muslims sometimes feel, singled out and stifled. But, as I said, it is a rarity, and the situation is getting better and better as more people get education.

Have fun on the forum, don't make people run away from here. FH will soon be a ruin if you and DQ and samai and others keep hurting religious sentiments.

This forum is about Hydbad, not mozlams or Hindus.

Hurt religious sentiments? BS. Stating facts from muslim and hindu points of view do not mean hurting religious sentis, man ! It means being moderate.

Promote peace. If facts are making people angry, it is better to let them be.

thanks for the suggestion. btw, do these db's say that we have to only promote peace and not put forth our thoughts?

that my only platform is a political platform alone? dont remember seeing those rules, bro (as kavya would say) :)

Since I have lot of both hindu and muslim family and friends alike, I think of it in terms of my hindu and muslim bro's- like a true hyderabadi. I hope nobody gets hurt or angry from my posts. Guess, if they are true hyderabadis and not think as a muslim or a hindu alone, they will not get hurt.

Same here, and I know for a fact that deep down, Muslims and Hindus are not overly fond of each other.

Oh, no, you are not right there. I am terribly fond of both. I feel so at home when am with or when I listen to either. I have affection for both. It hurts, though when they dis-respect and are at each others' throats. So, I try to make them both see the ills and good about each other through my eyes.

Sharjeel man, you are a champ. And it is certainly true what you said. I grew up in old city and had quite a few Muslim friends and went through difficult times (1992 attacks etc) without any problem. It is learned people like in this forum who are spreading rumours.

Of course there are idiots on all sides and we see some of them here as well.

U must be crazy Old City revelling to pakistan. hah the only peopel i saw revelling were the Jewellers (happen to be VHP sympathisers) these were the people who would place their bets on a Paki win.

And DQ!!!! WTF Sharjeel, hurting relegious sentiments. Though there is a lot tha can be said diaboliquely, nevr reverted to it. All i pen is what i see alarming.

Hindus if you knew me you would know, from family frinds to mates and all the best i have had are these and after them its been teh surds. i must be crazy to ridicule a religion on the actions of some pooh holed suckers. i have always questioned actions of political parties and people of importance. During religious arguements may have questioned a few practices but never stooped to passing derogatory comments.

Yes unity and itegrity is needed. It was present dude, I remeber my childhood india was a safe haven for all. Nah today its dangerously disintegrating into a polarised society thanks to a certian section that would want it to be polarised to attain their goals and the proof to this is the very many posts on these boards.

i disagree kavya. i have many friends in the Old City (muslims incl.) and am familiar with most of the by-lanes there too. i had even worked part time in marketing research for a big company when i was a student, and Old City was my territory from Begumbazar to Barkas and everything in between - charminar, yakutpura, jahannuma, shah ali banda, falaknuma, bahadurpura, katedan, chandrayangutta etc.

so out of personal experience i know the old city ppl to be nice, warm and helpful with the "original hyderabadi tehzeeb" present there.

ppl like u descibe do exist but are in a minority. i have encountered them and physically fought/threatened them too with help from my muslim friends and other elders of the locality.

i am very possesive abt hyderabad, and it includes what u call "mini-pakistan" too. so dont talk sh!t abt this place.

i am proud to be hindu. i do have differences of opinion with muslims, but because of good personal experiences, i do not color everyone with the same brush. at the same time i do not spare anyone i think is wrong.

its sad that yr experiences are only negative, but "stating your opinion" is differnt from pouring venom and generalizing. there are other ways in which u can talk abt yr bad experiences.

hey kavya nice that you started the post but darling the fact is hyderabad is a really good place to stay! you have teh freedom to do what you want. i am a complete outsider and am here for the past 2 years. but believe me its a nice place including the old city. i guess the problem is with ur perception. u think good and do good u get the same treatment. i blame hydbadies and i say i hate the place u get the same treatment. every night be thankful that the city has provided u with everything food shelter and a peaceful sleep! there are thousand in the world who even dont have what we enjoy! so stop the way u think and for a change think of all teh good things that life has given u and the city has given u.

you are entitiled to your opinions kavya, but posting extremely prejudiced views in public and causing badblood here is not a responsible behaviour.

thats where u went wrong. some of yrs posts were slanderous to an entire community. most of the DBs and forums ban any such racist and anti-someone talk

One person or organization does not make the whole population. One BJP or VHP cannot make every hindu a bad person and one fanatic muslim or a Taliban need not make every muslim a hateful person.

Religion has nothing to do with nature of human being. There are good and bad hindus n muslims. No religion has a copy right on good or bad.

in each and every religion there are extremists and they do not represent the sentiments of a particular sect ,caste or creed. when i see people from VHP or any particular politically active outfit favouring a religion i feel that they are just capitalising on the situation. a few years back there were camps organised by Bajrang dal in various parts of India where they distributed swords. rather than blaming the political outfit for organising such functions the individuals who are participating should think what am i doing? what is this going to fetch me? is this act benefitting someone? does he/she actually know which religion they belong and do they understand the essence of the teachings of that religion? are they true and do they follow each and everything what their religion teaches? i guess the problem with these individuals is that they are frustrated and claiming to be a staunch suppoerter would take them to a higher level of independence and away from their own problems.

Inspite of all the good experiences we all had at Old city, fact remains that Pakistan victories over India ARE celebrated. No one can deny this fact. Now, it is a different issue whether we can call it a mini Pakistan based on this fact alone.

One day I will celebrate Australia beating India and Pakistan and celebrate right on top minar or Charminar? will i b bashed?? I will one day celebrate Brazil beating saudi arabia or senegal for a though?? wud i b bashed?? no is the answer in both the cases... dont we have a freedom of choice  my wish my choice.. its all spirit of sport that makes one celebrate and not really india or pakistan.. why in the world wud someone cheer for brazil or france in 10 D or any other pub.. its not their like for a country.. spirit and reason for enjoyment....
