Kamal Manzil?

by Wedding hall... » Fri Dec 09, 2005 8:52 am

Hello everyone,

I am new here and I am so glad I found the forum just for us hydros!! :D

Anyway, I wanted to inquire about a wedding hall, Kamal Manzil. It's in Hyderguda, Hyderabad. This is where my parents got married.

I haven't seen it though since I live abroad. Can any of you who know about this, tell me if its still existing and get me an email for this wedding hall. I searched and all I have is their phone number.

Don't want to make a long distane call and not sure if the phone number is even correct.

All your help would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!!! :D

I'd say that this is not really due to a lack of tech availability or similar reasons. Consumer behaviour in India is far different from that in developed countries. And a business like a function hall in India would have no real use for an email address or a website apart from mere showbaazi as things stand today.

True...showing off one's product or service to the prospect has been the name of the game since times immemorial. But let's have a look at who the prospect is here. Usually a localite. And even if you take the diaspora patronage into consideration, they usually rely on local relatives/friends to find out such places for them.

And this is what I meant when I mentioned the difference in consumer behaviour. The average Indian consumer still prefers word of mouth as the prime medium while looking for services such as wedding/function halls. He would not really search the web for such services. Such B2C services are still marketed the traditional way. Though most function halls do have email addresses but having a web presence is still not in vogue. Having a web presence is not merely restricted to having a website as happens to be the misconception among a lot of traders not well initiated in the business aspects of having a website. You also need to make people (and I mean people outside the scope of your business' word of mouth apparatus) aware of the website. And that requires a lot of effort and acumen. 90% of the traders who get a web presence don't get considerable returns from the medium due to this shortcoming and this generates a lot of negative publicity against adopting this new business model. A vicious circle. But thats how things stand today.

Having said this, let me also add that things are changing now and it won't be long before small and medium businesses do have an active and fruitful web presence.

Rant-Champ HP - i agree with what you have to say..i guess word-of-mouth is a big thing...n it is the best advertising medium..however, i really do wish outside of this, businesses start advertisin on a bigger scale..

CtrlAltDel - lol..i am gonna try e-mailin to see how valid it is..my dad's in india, i told him to have a look at it, plus i will locate it as well while going there...i was thinking of doing before hand, but guess that's not goin to happen ...its okay

That would make most Delhiites of the 80s freaking laughter machines. Anyone who had to hunt for an address in Delhi around that time would know what I mean. :D
