Nice pics u've got there coolkat.. For the uninitiated ,Saarang is the cultural fest of IIT-Madras and is arguably one of the most popular college fests around.

Hey look!!! the guy on the right corner in the first pic is Crackednut's and my friend. He's an IITian and one of the Co-ordinators of Saarang. We were staying in his room.

By the way, the post-Saarang IIT magazine had special mention of the Crackednut by name. It was a common joke during Saarang that the live shows were co-sponsored by "Crackednut and his friend". (the friend being me

SO here's the story

When the Tsunami hit Chennai it wiped out some of the dwellings near Marina beach. This is where the herbs for the secret energy potions which fuel IIT come from. Because of the wipeout, the Core Co-ordinators were left high and dry. **cough cough** i mean they werent high but ......you get it right.

So Crackednut and his sidekick (me) went to the location in Hyd where the best herbs are found. We took some and made the potion every night while these guys worked their asses off to put a good show.

Hence Saarang 05 co-sponsored by Crackednut. Hence the name in print since the mag is written by the students themselves.

By the way to all who didnt quite get what I'm talking about, I'm talking about a home-made can of Red Bull. The affects are similar.

No macha....we didnt have a lot....but it was just enough.....only 200 bucks ke herbs from that place in Hyd where the best is available.

Btw....the Red Bull joke if you didnt get it.......the new Red Bull tagline here is " It gives you wings". Which is the purpose of the herbs innit

Look at the aisle between the benches....the aisle on the right side. Look at the back of the class, there's a guy sitting on the steps of the aisle holding a paper, wearing a greenish shirt. You cannot see his face but its definetly me....i remember guy in the black adidas t shirt in the second row (i remember because i have the same shirt).

I cannot remember which quiz this is because we were always hungover

another anecdote from Saarang.

They have a large open air auditorium where all the shows are held -Amaan and Ayaan, KK, Moksha, Orange Street, Jazz musician Prasanna and the inter college dance festival.

At night the cordinators change the backgrounds and other arrangements. The auditorium is outta bounds for most others. Since we made the potion, TCN and me were there most of the time. The night before the dance contest, some girls college from Bangalore wanted to practise on the main stage. So they practised all night.

And it was a vey hot night.

And we were all stoned.

And none of us had cameras.
