This post comes from a relative newcomer to Hyderabad. Excuse my ignorance, if there's any.

The entire power generation structure (Genco, Transco, CPDCL) should undergo a corporate makeover...maybe even privatisation. I come from a place where the electricity company is privatised (Ahmedabad) and powercuts never existed there ever since the privatisation of the Ahmedabad Electricity Company. The same can be said of Mumbai too.

The current corporate structure (Genco, Transco & CPDCL) come across as organisations full of bureaucracy at its peak. Corruption and mismanagement are the order of the day. Privatisation would bring a fresh lease of professionalism in the structure.

But then, forget this happening till YSR is in power. For that matter, I suppose even TDP was against the move to privatise these companies.

This is with reference to HP's post. Have not TRANSCO, GENCO, and APCPDCL already been corporatised partially? I do remember the move to split APSEB was to give it a corporate structure.

they r not privatised yet. these companies are run by bureaucrats who wudnt know the difference between Thermal Power and Hydroelectric Power. Mumbai's efficient private power supply system shud be implemented here. but thats possible only when the commies go extinct in AP.
wtf? i no longer care if my posts hurt yr feelings

CAD, my dear, do not grudge bureaucracy. After all, if it were not for them we would not know the difference between those who are wise and those who are otherwise...

I agree with what HP said.

Unfortunately, only Transco was privatized partially to reform economic growth and balance power supply a couple of years back, and there seemed to be an improvement in prevention of power cuts in these two years. But now it is going to involve only with transmission and not billing or power supply. So there could be worse time ahead with frequent power cuts. I wish we could bring it to the notice of YSR, not with suicide, that we are also sufferers like farmers.
