Do you think that NRIs have done anything for the development of the country save for sending those dollars? And, considering that our Forex Reserves swelling today, does even that serve us any purpose? Would it not have been better for the country had those people stayed in here and worked for their motherland? It is very easy to say stuff like there are no opportunities in the country but then who makes those opportunities? If we did not have our scientists working overtime, do you think we would have been self-sufficient in food, milk, space technology, nuclear energy, etc.? On second thoughts, the brain that gets drained out of the country probably deserves to be drained. I would rather have people in the country who might not be considered super brilliant (though I seriously doubt why NRIs are thought of as being intelligent) but give their body and soul to their country than some half-assed nerd whose only love is money.
