Ironically, why is the world so blind to this?

by Faheem » Thu Dec 04, 2003 1:12 am

I tried to post this link to a relevant existing board, although there were few I could use but feared wrist slapping for irrelevance.

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/363483.html

Excerpts:
\"In a place where nearly
everything is permissible and violence is
perceived as normative behavior, each soldier
tests his own limits of violence impulsiveness
on his victims - the Palestinians\"

\"how Shahar pissed
on the head of an Arab because the man had the
nerve to smile at a soldier; how Dado forced an
Arab to stand on four legs and bark like a dog;\"

\"The company commander informed us over the
radio that we had to bring him to the base.
`Good work, tigers,\' he said, teasing us. All
the other soldiers were waiting there to see
what we\'d caught. When we came in with the
Jeep, they whistled and applauded wildly. We
put the Arab next to the guard. He didn\'t stop
crying and someone who understood Arabic said
that his hands were hurting from the handcuffs.
One of the soldiers went up to him and kicked
him in the stomach. The Arab doubled over and
grunted, and we all laughed. It was funny ... I
kicked him really hard in the ass and he flew
forward just as I\'d expected. They shouted that
I was a totally crazy, and they laughed ... and
I felt happy. Our Arab was just a 16-year-old
mentally retarded boy.\"

seriously, how does it concern you if someone in another country is made fun of???

why is it you ppl get annoyed when osama bin laden is ridiculed or when saddam hussein is chased??

as an indian, should you not be concerned more about the caste system right here where you grew up, or about the number of people being killed/targetted for various reasons?? how is it you folks always have soft corner for people living in countries that you may never even visit???

are you a palestianian? if you are one, then you have no real need to post here cuz it should not hurt you at all.. do hindus in India get jerked up like u when nepalis in the hindu country nepal are attacked by maoists?

Faheem, my observations: you pick up a leftist newspaper, you get your news so, if it is the right wings, its that much more on the right. Evrybody takes sides including me. Do not expect the media to give you unbiased and balanced news coverage. It does not exist. I can give you exactly the opp. news of what you read about the same place on the same day at the same place by the same people who made the news.
