Media - the ultimate WMD

The man who has media under his control can reach everyone and become a great leader, at the same time. Media can be used aginst him to make him look stupid. I think this is the ultimate weapon. The western media calls Islamic militants in Kashmir as rebels. They always talk of 1000 muslims being killed, but never talk of the reason which is - 50 Hindus being burnt alive. The western media goes to all parts of the world and our trade ties with other countries comes under strain. In India, and abroad, we have many problems because of false claims from media just for the sake of getting a better audience. What do you think? There is also careful suppression of facts like the Gujarat incident, everytime they talk of 1000 muslims only. We have to be like the Chinese who have started an investigation into how much time foreign channels are showing \"pro China\" news and how much time they are showing \"anti-China\" news. Strict action will be taken on some wroong doers who concentrate on tarnishing the reputation of the country. Do you think we should also do the same? And which newspaper/channel do you think is good and unbiased?

I would say truth and only but the truth should be reported. There is no end once the media becomes pro or anti.
