The policy about deleting posts

by fullhyd.com » Tue May 28, 2002 12:30 am

Guys, at the risk of sounding sissy, we just love anyone who comes to fullhyd.com. People who come here are spending their valuable time on our site, and there could be no greater endorsement than that of our quality and popularity.

We try to keep these boards as easy and light-hearted as possible, and therefore try to keep out any topics that we feel have the potential to rouse passions even at a later stage. Some of our users feel strongly about various issues that are high-voltage and invariably lead to flames (abusive language). The purpose of these boards is simply not that.

These are HYDERABADI boards. They are intended to help Hyderabadis and people new to town search for various resources in town using the collective knowledge of others in town, look for old friends, make clubs with people in town sharing specific cultural interests, reminisce about the great past of the city, and make friends in the process.

A great effort goes into keeping fullhyd.com a lively and light-hearted site, and to keep these boards free of unhealthy passions. Obviously, we need to delete posts from time to time to manage this. The kind of posts we delete are
1. ones with any abusive/offensive language and/or sexual innuendos,
2. posts that are targeted at other individuals who\'ve made posts and that are critical of that individual rather than the of the post, and
3. posts that can upset any community even to the slightest extent.

Sometimes it may so happen that you think some deletion was unjustified. Believe us, deleting is something we do after a significant amount of consideration, except in case of some obscene posts that are begging to be deleted. Please leave your email addresses behind so that we respond individually to you about anything that you might be concerned about. The email addresses are not seen on the boards, and are available only to us to communicate to you if we need to remove/modify a post that you made. And if you have a complaint, please write to webmaster@fullhyd.com rather than post it here. We are quite prompt in responding.

I agree all your aims for light heartedness. But in this world we are facing so many problems day to day, so many insults based on race, religion, sex, language, place etc., that some of the forum creators may try to share their hard experiences. They may seek the opinion of their fellow Net users. This at some times may create sparks. This is quite unfortunate. In future, we will try to be positive at ALL TIMES.

Hey, I dunno abt the financial concerns of the fullhyderabad.com team, but how about having PHP script based discussion boards?

thats very true!
infact i see they use php already, but maybe implementing a board like the invsion board, ubb, etc. would be a better idea. It has lots of cool features, and a more plush design. chk it out at http://www.invisionboard.com today most sites use this backend.
