Hyderabad, Aug 9: Cyber cafes in the city have devised a new ploy to lure net-crazy youngsters by some pornographic web sites.

Some cafes in Mehdipatnam, Yousufguda and Ameerpet have websites with explicit material set as the default website. Unsuspecting customers are surprised when a series of porn sites pop up as soon as they open a browser. Pleasure, lesbian and gay sites are the usual sites that bombard the user.

An embarrassed user Srikanth at a cyber cafe Vision.net at Ameerpet said, “I actually came to check my mail, when these sites just sprang up.”

The manager tried to explain by saying, “We don’t control what the customer browses.” At some browsing centres, even the screen savers consist of nude pictures.

At another cafe, “N Joy” in Yousufguda, youngsters when questioned why they were there, said it was to chat, check e-mails or simply browse for information. Though none admitted to watching pornography themselves, they knew others who did so.

The manager at at Mehdipatnam on condition of anonymity said, “We reserve some machines for our special customers who browse and chat on the porn sites. But for other customers, its up to them to browse whatever site they want.”

Some cafes also offer downloading and recording of X rated movies for a special price. With the hardware prices crashing, a CD writer costs around Rs 5,000 and most of the cafes record explicit material for their regular customers only.

Surprisingly, most of the cyber cafes have not installed screening software like cyber nanny, cyber patrol. There is also no restriction through personal supervision either.

It is illegal to surf pornographic sites in net centres and most of these centres are making genuine efforts to curb this. If any center is found to promote this from their side they, must be served notices and if they still don\'t comply proper action must be taken against them.

No, it is just curiosity and desires to try unnatural things that make men and women want a same-sex partner. I know it coz some of my classmates became lesbians only out of curiousity. but one of them is getting married to a guy in december.

Pornography is THE biggest business on the Internet. Internet made porn easily accessible to millions of customers accross the globe. The suggestion of filters at Cybercafes will kill them. More over with our police can you think it can be done?
