About India

India is a country which is standing in second place in the world\'s population. Even in 2003 today we can see the beggars in complete India. In the Four Major cities (Mumbai, chennai, delhi,Kolcutta) we can find them. In Some villages through out the country even for today there is no current/power supply. In Education above 50% Illiteracy is found in India throughout the country. Somany people are dying with hunger. Some persons farmers, labourers etc are suiciding themselves because of their debts.
Women inorder to marry a guy they must give dowry. The girl must pay dowry to the guy inorder to marry him. India\'s is still a developing or underdeveloped country Since, Independence it is been standing like that only.

Adding to the above, so many religions, castes, languages, customs, culture, dances, food habits. In India everything is different, and in that I like one thing - that is Unity. India is a country having \"Unity in Diversity\". There may be several religions in our country. But we all live in the shade of one tree, and that is our motherland India. In America you can find Christianty, in Pakistan you can find Islam. Likewise in most countries in the world we can find their own religions. But it is India which has all religions in it. That\'s why India is considered to be the second world in itself.

Namaskaram,

I am french and visited Hyderabad one year back. My first surprise was to see how indian people always try to make differences between themselves. Sex, Religion, Food, Cast, languages ... In France there is a famous sentence in our Philosophy : \'everything, everybody, are needed to make a world\'

I thot we were considered \"third world\" not a \"second world in itself\"

But seriously, what\'s so great about this \"unity in diversity\" thingy (apart from being a fancy political term)...?? If you are in a repressed section (be it a dalit or a disadvantaged woman) would you feel proud to be sharing the same tree with your oppressor...50 years ago J. Nehru in his discovery of india terms ours a \"decaying culture\"...I\'m afraid it still stands true...Positively thinking, the rising literacy levels, economic parity will hopefully bring a change for the better...

Thierry,
based on what a few friends had to say who\'d been to paris (I\'ve never been to france and I don\'t have any french friends so ofcourse this is all hearsay), French people are perceived t be xenophobic and jingoistic...and this is the uniform impression of 5-6 people....What are your thoughts on that in relation to \'everything, everybody, are needed to make a world\'
