Give an example - like Scooty, Sunny, Bullet, Eliminator etc. - then we can be clearer about what you mean by motorcycle or bike...

I can get specs for the various bikes out there on the market quite easily. What I cannot get is a feel for how the bikes really perform. When I put up this post I was hoping that the bike enthusiasts and owners on fullhyd would pitch in and share some of their experience and offer their advice.

Hi Samatha, kids drive toys (all those 100 cc bikes, scooters etc.) and boys drive real machines (Yezdi, Bullet). But real men drive stuff like CBR1200, ZZR 1100, BMW12000cc Suzuki GSX 600, Harley Davidson and Honda Shadows. I am living in Dubai. If you are serious just test any one of these - you will never touch toys after that! majid069@hotmail.com

If you are looking for a reliable bike with mileage around 60, medium looks go for the trusted Hero Honda Splendor. If power and looks are the ones u need, go for Pulsar, or wait for some more time to lay your hands on Fiero II.

Hi Samatha !
For female riders, Scooty is the most comfortable vehicle. Mileage is good, driving and maintenance is simple and cheaper too. A no. of ladies known to me are riding it and they dont have any problem with Scooty.
If your are looking for geared vehicle, then Hero Honda Splendour is best. It\'s true that spares cost is high, but maintenance costs will be high only when proper care is not taken while riding. I am riding Splendour for the last 4 years and have not incurred an extra paise excepting for servicing charges and fuel. Not changed even a clutch wire. I have crossed 50,000 km mark

Raj, Rammy, thank you for your input. It does seem that Splendor looks like a pretty decent bike.
