Folks, recently (in the last two years) I came across some cases where the marriages were cancelled for young programmers in the USA from India after the engagements. Some reasons were loss of job and fear of layoff. And some went to an extent where they wanted their daughters or sisters to be married to a software programmer who is in SAP... Sounds funny, but it is true. Share your thoughts and experiences on this?

A few yrs ago, we friends from non-IT used to sit and discuss that we may not be able to find a girl coz all the advertisements in the \"grooms wanted\" section asked for IT background boys/men... I hope such things have come down and non-IT guys can find a girl easily... It\'s been a while since I left college and saw the classified section... Is there any change in the type of ads?

Hi KK!! In our Hyd I know of a few business people (non-IT) - some of them builders (construction) and such who have taken a shower of at least 4 to 8 crores each in the past two years. They are back to their original area of work.

I think these non-IT paisewallahs are still trying to invest and try thier luck in IT. I came to know that a few guys invested a lot of money in BPO kinda work and lost money, and the middle men are in CCS... Is that true???

I think people who changed lines taking others as examples and they personally not having the survival instinct lost very badly. When you change your field, u\'ve got to have the guts/instinct/planning and get it right the first time and be there first. The early bird gets the worm, but what if it doesn\'t know how to eat? Can\'t help!
