Is ISB better than IIMs?

it was only started recently and is difficult to compare. taking the fact that many left their jobs abroad and joined the first batch.....it makes me think.....is it worth............any first hand information on placements,progarm structure and exposure etc.....??????

They both don\'t belong to the same catagory, drawing a similarity would compromise some vital aspects of both the institutions. More on this shortly

Comparing ISB to IIMs is like evaluating an IPO (Initial Public Offering) against a Stock that has been on the market for a while. The former is volatile for no claer reason (expectations), the latter for a good reason (reality). Your risk more of the former than the latter. The owners of the former gain more than that of the latter. The former generally is crap, the latter helps you \'rap\'. And so on and so forth. Never compare apples and oranges. The former \'lloks brown\' and the latter \'tastes sour\' when exposed to elements, i.e. air.

i know that one is different from the other.........given an option, say u got admit/are sure of getting into both.......what would you choose......instead of saying they are incomparable.....can you guys please point the (dis)advantages of one compared to the other.......thank you, bye

Do not draw a comparison between these two. The very pupose to set up ISB was different to that if IIMs. Why would the best management schools in the world, the best consultants want to duplicate a concept like IIMs?. ISB is a one yea course with a mandatory requirement of work ex, IIMs don\'t have this clause, atleast on paper!. ISB graduates belong to a different genre than that of IIMs. Not that ISB guys are better. Its like comparing plane with a motor boat, what one does, other cannot.
