Travelling to Mumbai... need some info!!

Hey!! Going to Mumbai next week for a long awaited holiday and was wondering if there\'s anyone on this board who can help. This will be my first trip there and hubby doesn\'t know much about the place either. Need to know good places for shopping and a few good nightclubs. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!!

heh heh... u have posted at the right place!!! d00d please do spicify what exactrly u need ...i mean where will u be put upp... soi can recommend all ur partying/discos etc etc to ur nearest place.and also please do specify how lavish are u gonna be...\'coz there is a huuuuuge diff in the \'moolah\' factor from place to place (i mean suburb to suburb)

I\'ll be staying very close to Sivaji Park. Heard that Jazz By The Way, Fire & Ice & J49 are happening places? What would you recommend? And how would u compare them to places like Ten Downing street,Dublin,Underdeck etc here in Hyd?
Money\'s no major issue. I plan to visit just a couple of these places saturday and sunday nights along with my husband. But there\'s something I heard about dress codes at these places. Now, what\'s this about??

hmmmmm...well....shivaji park in dadar happens to be THE center of bombay and every part of b\'bay is accesible frm there. err actually fire \'n ice and j49 happens to be discotheques and in no way they can be compared to TDS and dublin. fire \'n ice the crowd is really happening there...mostly the richi rich and i-wanna-be featured-in-the-3rd-page-of-midday kinda crowd. the adv is that u are staying in dadar it is very close to ur place. also places like madness,,,,velocity (my personal fav) are damn good. and about the dress code.....the flashier the more gaudy the better...tho\' personally i wud advise to u to wear something light and a bit formal....yess that shud get u thr00\'...u have my word for that. the crowd in fire \'n ice is awesome during the weekends. the entry is structly couples and there is a small entry/cover there which is anywhere around 800-1500 depending upon the crowd!!!!!! the music is real groovy mostly drum \'n bass and non-commercial pub garage (not my type again)..... jazz by the way is in marine drive and is a great place to be with ur hubby.... the ambience is very good and so is the grub ( a piece of advice .... do try those pasta varieties there and just dont go for the pizzas...)....besides there are a lot many places there ... esp the shri krishna vada pav stall in dadar .... sulabh sauchalaya .... and THE LOCAL TRAIN.... heh he just kidding

Hi Pope!!

Decided that I want to visit Fire & Ice and Enigma at the JW Mariott. NOW, what I want to know is whether I need to know some hi-funda vip guys to gain entry into these places? A net friend from Mumbai told me this and I\'m hoping he\'s wrong. I don\'t know anybody at all in Mumbai!!

A little correction please Jazz by the way is actually JAZZ by the BAY. And don\'t worry pal you don\'t have to be a VIP or know a hi fi guy to get entry. The entries are restricted only if there are special event and usually there are lots of events happening. For a smooth chillout time at any of these places make an early entry.

errr... it is actually Jazz By The Way only, and not otherwise... it is called Pizzeria - Jazz By The Way at marine lines. Mebbe u are referring to something else.

And about Fire And Ice, there are no restrictions as such. Anyone can enter as long as they are ready to shell out moolah. Of Enigma I really have no idea. Heard it is pretty happening.
