Hi guys. Its great to know that many share the same feelings that I do regarding 9-11 or whatever other name it goes by. Demo man, I NEVER faced any racist attack by any American; in fact I have many American friends and there was never any hostility anytime based on my race. In fact, after the attacks, I was a bit apprehensive wondering if there were going to be revenge attacks on us, but nothing of that sort happened. As far as the attacks are concerned, it is definitely sad that so many people were killed because of the cruel acts of a handful. But it is ridiculous to harp on that all along. As Kulcha pointed out the general American is ignorant of the Union carbide incident and other incidents. Most Americans wouldn\'t care for the thousands of people who die regularly following terrorist strikes in other countries. On the other hand, they won\'t mind killing thousands of Afghans, already battered by the SOviets, just to catch one Osama who is not even an Afghan. There are many incidents of US soldiers, posted in other countries, assaulting the local \'third world\' people and some of them even got away with serious crimes like rape and murder. And of course, the US won\'t deport them so that they can be tried and prosecuted. I stopped reading CNN news long ago because it is highly biased. I have read many news articles like this before on CNN - \'some american in the Philippines gets slightly injured in a fire accident\' and they elaborate on it, and in the last two lines of the article you find something like this \'...10 Filipino men were killed in the same fire accident\'.
Well, this just goes to show that people treat an American life with greater respect and give it more value than an Asian life. It is definitely time to get over with the colonial feeling and stand up as yourself. I don\'t want to trivialize the last year\'s terrorist attack in the US, but at this time, my heart goes out to the familes of the victims in the recent train accident and pray that their families cope with the loss.
