i was travelling yesteray from bangalore by train.one young man of age 25 was whistling an old tune .the weather was very good, raining. next to us there was an old couple. suddenly the lady asked this man to stop whistling as it was giving her headache. the man said sorry ,was litle embarassed and kept quite.later after some time, when the lady had gone to wash, her husband was telling sorry to this man for her wife\'s behaviour. he repeatedly said sorry on her behalf.againg this young man was embarassed.

Thats the problem with senior citizens of India. They think that they can be rude with the younger folk just because they are one or more generations above them. The old woman was definitely rude and this is characteristic of most senior citizen in India. She could have asked him politely to stop whistling. I am surprised that her husband actually apologized to the young man. I wish more senior citizens have manners like him.

I think it was undoubtedly the fault of the old ladys cat !!
had it not troubled the old lady the previous night and had she got proper sleep , she wouldnt have bothered to sleep in the treain and would have enjoyed looking at the rain, and the youngster could have just whistled away merrily!!!

Thats what I think, and I know I am always right :))

Dude, why was the cat awake at that time? Were you pulling its tail? If yeah, then the total responsibility is yours. Better own up

Amazing case-study you have brought up, karnasri. There is certainly a lot we can talk about. Frankly, i\'m completely at loss with this \"cat\'s tail\" theory and raise my hands in defeat. Coming to the topic, I don\'t find anything wrong with what has happened. I had a similar experience once. While travelling in a noisy train, an old man woke up, asked my friend and i to stop talking and let him get some peace. For him the only source of noise in a 2nd class compartment, were 2 kids who could barely hear each other properly. In this case, it was an old woman who found the young man\'s whislting annoying. From my point of view, let me put things like this >>> Young man (around 25 years) sits next to window and finds the weather very romantic. A catchy song comes up in his head and he wishes to whistle the tune. So he goes ahead and in that moment of happiness he doesn\'t seem to care about the others around him. Old Woman looks at Young Man. She wonders how can he whistle like this? A sense of fear and insecurity grips her. His courage and youth seem very threatening. She feels Young Man doesn\'t have a very good character. Immediately she pulls the plug and asks him to shut up. \"Headache\" being a very valid and common reason. Meanwhile, Old Man seemed to be having a nice time. He sees our Young Man. He likes the tune. He remembers of his own days of youth. He was also young once. But now he is old and married to a very fussy woman. He lets Young Man enjoy his moment. But Old Man is equally distrubed with Old Woman\'s intrusion. At the first minute that she leaves his sight, he apologises. It was not right on her part to have said so. There wouldn\'t have been any haeadache as such. It could only be a reason. He knows it is wrong on the part of Old Woman to criticse Young Man. He looks decent enough. He could be of no harm. He asks for forgiveness so that they have no ill-feeling aginst them both. Observing all this is our friend, Karnasri, who is struck by Old Man\'s humility. Figures out this could be a great discussion at fullhyd\'s BB to which The Crackednut lands up with a huge case-study on a 2 minute incident. Thank You!
