Your favourite World Cup innings by Sachin

The very recent match with South Africa where he pulled of a hundred amidst pressure from good bowlers is the best. At 37, Sachin is still doing pretty good. Kudos!

the match in which sachin plays itself become the most memorable match, by any way his contribution to the team remains, the thing which i like most of the maestro is the respect he has to the game..,

the best innings would be unleashed during the match against pakistan, which is to be played on 30th march, which would be remember for ages..

Sachin's Best WC Innings is the powerful 140* against Kenya in the 1999 World Cup which he tributed to his late father, helping India score one of its highest one-day scores 329. India had won the match by 94 runs and he received the "Man of the Match". I had always liked his batting before he had become the captain of the Indian team during those earliest days in his teens and 20s... He used to be out there wildly hitting all over the grounds in total abandon and glee, especially matches that helped him become the highest WC run scorer. Even though he doesnt seem to be as wild, we still love to see him make tons and score personal bests and create world records... To see him score his 100th ODI ton, especially against Pakis, that too in a World Cup SemiFinal - that'd be a real choicest treat, yet, there is always this slight apprehension (no matter how baseless) that comes from a seeming myth that whenever Sachin scores a ton or makes a record, India loses a match... aaawwww... yet, though my most fav crickter might not be him right now, I would still cheer loudest: "East or Best Sachin's the Best!" :-)

this is the Most Valuable Inning .Where sachin scored 140 N.O runs and he faced 101 balls with 16 fours and 3 sixers While most matches or innings in sport is simply an execution of skill on the playing field, this one inning of Sachin Tendulkar should be seen as a highly emotional one. It is never easy to even hold a bat less than a week after your 'favourite' soul leaves the world. Sachin had lost his father mid-way through the world cup and had to rush back to India. He came back within a week and played an inning that even had his father admiring from the heavens. Such was the emotional intensity of that special inning that a few words of English will never be enough to describe it.

Sachin scored 70 runs in 91 balls which was a dam hard wicket to bat on .It was a very difficult wicket at Gwalior and was one of the few low scoring encounters of the 1996 world cup. After winning the toss, West Indies batted first and toiled their way to a measly 173 in 50 overs. That effort gave enough indications of how difficult the conditions were. India did not get off to a good start at all as they lost 2 wickets for just 15 with Curtly Ambrose on fire. Watching the early shocks at the other end did little to unnerve Sachin as he calmly steered India to safety with a polished knock. It was an inning of immense responsibility and saw the class act at work in a very calculated manner.

120 against England (2011 world cup)

sachin scored 120 runs with 10 fours and 5 sixers. :-)

It was a very old fashioned inning and summed up why the approach should be in that manner while playing in the subcontinent. Sachin opened with Sehwag and negated the early little moment for the quicker bowlers with a sedate start. Once in, he started to toy around with English bowlers and accelerated very sharply in the mid stages of Indian innings playing a major role in helping the team reach a score of 338. It was a different issue Indian bowlers' failure coupled with Andrew Strauss' blitzkrieg ensured the match would finish even stevens. But, for the Sunday crowd of Bangalore, there was no better sight than watching the batting maestro in action.

Somebody will say if hits 100 then others will leve and forgets to beat runs so,the match will out of the hand. Not only sachin but everybody have to play well .But, the innings in last match should be continued and he have to complete his records.

sachin scored 54 against Pakistan in 1992 World Cup It was only the third world cup match ever for the Little Master and it was against Pakistan. Batting first, Indian batsmen failed to come to terms with some sharp Pakistani bowling and were down at 148 for 5 before Sachin played a gem to ensure India put up a competitive total of 216. He went on notch up his first world cup fifty. Indian bowlers went on to restrict Pakistan to just 173 as the Little Master bowled a fabulous spell of 1 for 37 for his 10 overs to cap a wonderful all-round day for himself.

sachin socred 98 runs agais pakisthan in 2003 worldcup.Easily the best World Cup inning of Sachin Tendulkar for many reasons. It came under huge pressure of chasing a big total and doing it against a quality Pakistani bowling attack in a high voltage clash. Cricket rivalry between India and Pakistan is such that a win during their clash was more significant for many fans than the World Cup itself. Chasing a stiff target of 274 after Pakistan were led by a glorious Saeed Anwar century, Sachin simply tore into every Pakistani bowler and notched up 98 in just 75 balls with 13 hits to the fence. He was so unlucky to miss a century on the day. India won the match comfortably.

On 30th March 2011, Sachin has proved once again that he is the best batsman in the world. That is in the Semi Finals Match of the ICC World Cup Vs Pakistan.

yeap, he is only one short of 100 international centuries, and last year also became the first to hit a one-day international double-hundred. On the 13, April 2011 Wisden honours Sachin as Leading Cricketer in the World for 2010.
