What's the one thing you would change about Hyd and how?

OK, say you were the man/woman right at the top, what would be the first thing you would change about Hyderabad and how would you do it?

To kick things off, mine would be to change the way us Hyderabadis drive! It's like being in the middle of a war zone out there and its true when they say that if you can drive around Hyderabad, you could drive anywhere!

And now coming to the tough part - how would I do it? It'll probably have to be by giving out fewer licenses per month and by totally re-vamping our traffic police force to ensure they enforce traffic rules instead of just being bothered about making enough dough for their daily cup of chai!

Now it's your turn. What's the one thing you would change about Hyd?

So basically the first thing i would change bout hyd city is the TRAFFIC RULES and the ATTITUDE of people in the city and not to forget the VILLAGE type thinking of majority of people living in it!!

Id want the road transport authority(RTA) of hyderabad to implement stricter and tougher tests for licenses. more than half the people in hyd drive without any traffic sense. they should have several tests before they get their licenses in which they should be asked questions about basic civic n road sense.

Ah,this one is real easy!

If I were to change all the things I didn't like about Hyderabad, one could hardly recognise it!
How about we get the city lads to change first?

- To begin with, they could stop leaching every time a girl walked out in shorts..or walked out in denims..or simply when a girl walked out!
- Zipping up their pants and finding a better place to pee than the city walls should do well!( c'mon..we rather have graffiti on those walls you guys) ;)
-Get them to read the Onion, vote right for right reasons and get the city's youth to stay back in town with better colleges!

But then again..its Hyderabad we are talking about.. so 'chilllll mammmaaaa'!

One of the things I'd want to change in Hyd is the way stray dogs are captured by the Stray Animal Catching Unit. These dog catchers are ruthless. Many times I've jumped out of the car to fight with them. I've seen 60kg dogs tied at the neck by a rope being swung over the dog catcher's head repeatedly until the dog lands into the bed of the truck. Sometimes the dogs are slammed into the side of the truck because the dog catcher misses the truck bed with each swing of the rope. Disgusting! And what's more disgusting is people standing around like they're watching a street dance.

If the trucks had a ramp leading up to the truck bed, then dogs could be pushed or pulled on to the bed. This doesn't solve the entire stray dog problem, I know, but if we start thinking like humans instead of barbarians, then maybe we'll get somewhere with this and other issues...

Yeah, that sounds like an inhuman way of capturing stray dogs.

But do you have any ideas about how this problem can be solved?

I think the city'd become a much better place if
1. people stopped spitting
2. public transportation were better=> more people travel in fewer vehicles => lesser pollution
3. SOMEONE took care of the massive potholes on our roads.

Hmm.. Treat all stray dogs (both sexes included) as your brothers and sisters :)
If possible, make them your pets :)

The one thing I will be doing and change i am seeking will be the way we drive around in Hyderabad.
I will be doing this by opening a official travel and traffic chaos in Hyderabad on Facebook. I prefer face book because a lot of today's young generation use it. I will use this page to bring out innovative ways and give face book users the opportunity to post their opinion. My suggestion will be dedicated road paths for buses. Only buses are allowed in this lanes. No other vehicle can cross into it. If it does a fine should be levied.
