India needs its engineering talents back

by CTC » Wed Jul 12, 2006 7:48 pm

It is time for India to bring back all our enginneering and technology talents from the western farce called outsourcing and call centers. Our Engineering and technology talents are required for Mechnaical and Aerospace applications in our best R& D centers. Why our best talent end up in software doing jobs for western and european countries?. Of course money is important but afterall country too spent more money on them to educate them at best of the institutions. Is it not their duty to pay back to the nation when it needs?.

"In India 99.99% engineers end up working for software body shops servicing American and European companies. The rest 90% of 0.01% ledt goes abroad to anhance western science and technology programs. Whatever is left out work for premere agencies like DRDO and ISRO".

yup but there is also another side to this:

India has so much talent that it can feed the whole of the world in addition to itself.

But mindless migration for greener pastures shud be condemned. Lot of our engineers and professionals end up doing odd jobs in the developed world, Now that is wht is called wasting of talent.

These call center jobs however interesting they may seem , they are ruining the talents of our professionals.

There shud be changes in policies and planning level by the government to address these things.

well if the government really cares abt this thing than just being worried abt the future electoral prospects of its own .
I have an attitude and I am not afraid to use it.

My parents educated me by paying all my fees and not the country. I studied in this country by being sponsored by my parents. Unlike in the western countries u see every student gets scholarships to study from the government and so they are mentally prepared and happy to return the amount in the form of taxes. Can this be the same in India?

And coming to Engineers, this country will not produce the best of the best unless and until they invest more and more in research and compete with the rest of the world.

high hopes...

our govt. is too busy formulating new reservation policies (and etc., etc.), just so that they can increase their vote count in the next elections...instead of doing what is ACTUALLY good for the country (and the people who are capable & would love to do something in return).

once the govt stops doing stuff for their own good, and starts actually thinking about what's good for their country (and people), then trust me, the sky's the limit. but until then, we're stuck with this ridiculousness.
How Image am I??

It could have been possible, if the govt acts little smarter. At the time when US economy was slacking, if indian govt had campaigned for the return of nonimmigrant indians - people would have flown back.
