I've asked this question longtime, which is a simple, economical & most practical mid size car with good safety ratings.
Do you think Hyundai Swift will stand out?

Ford Ikon is being phased oput and replaced by Ford Fiesta. In anyc ase, Ikon has nothing right except for the pricing, it looks old even when it is new, and has a bad engine (which is being repalced in Ford Fiesta , which incidentally, like Ford Fusion has the same Duratec engine which Ford Mondeo has), with a steerign that needs real power to operate.
You might get the basic model of Ford Fiesta around 6 lakhs.
If lookignfor cars in taht segment, you can try Avio from Chevy, but then, it has already lsot out to Ford Fiesta in terms of performance, so maybe you should not venture that way.
Esteem, Baleno....well....somehow they are known cheap cars...and I ahve no diea why theya re not so popular.
MM, though Santro has been around for 10 years, it keeps on improving its engine, and looks...and 10 years is a good time for a car to be reliable. I personally own one, which has the new look, and I would any day recommend a Santro.....for looks, performance, reliability, mileage, comnfort....comes within 4 lakhs including all charges..
Swift is good, and giving all cars in its segment, mostly maruti's own zen and wagonR, a tough competition.
Indica is fine, if you want to drive like the call-centre cabs....else somehow it doesn't spell class...maybe it is my mental block.
