America- A historical fluke

by VJ » Fri Jun 02, 2006 10:37 pm

Hi Friends,

Just take a look at the mentality of the people. When it comes to electing a guy for their daughter they see many qualities like his job , financial status, family status etc etc. For everything they are very careful in selecting things for their own. But when it comes to electing their leader then they just go away without any analysis. This is how it goes in india.

Researvations, Corruption, Poverty, Poor Infrastructure, Lack of proper Research and Innovation, The government with no connections to the universities, Uneducated people, the heavy population this country is bearing, all these stuff are responsible for lack of develoment of this country INDIA.

One thing I wonder is America being very less populated than India stands on top of this world, so Where should India stand with more than billion people thinking and acting together.

My one point of recommendation to the f*cking Indian goverment is "If you want to BEAT the world then READ the world".

Cheers,

I think you are not familiar with the poll rigging that happens in India and how there are duplicates in votes and how pathetic the voting system is. If only there was way of computerizing the whole thing and people could vote from their homes!

I have seen alot of elections and voted in a couple of them. The electoral process has become a lot more streamlined and strict in India. India is one of the first countries to implement electronic voting on a national scale. All we have to do is go to the voting booth stand in line for our turn and cast our vote. That we cant do , on a holiday given just for that purpose. And further we want a process that enables us to vote from home???? Well thats something new. So once in four years we find it soo difficult to get up in the morning and go and vote. Wah bahi Wah. I can already see India progressing. Way to go. We can find a 1000 reasons for India not performing upto its potential, but the foremost must be the laziness of its educated to go and vote.

The reason why I said from home was because of security. Wouldnt make it difficult for the vote riggers to go to each and everyhome and try to threaten people?!

It is also important to educate people and make them aware of pros and cons about electing a party. This has to be done by some unbiased organizations. This is almost impossible to achieve, but something on the lines of this will help too. This should be mostly in rural sectors!

why?

You said that your family were proud Indians and I bet they still are. Arent they? I am sure there are many in our coutnry who are like you and your family but unfortunately they form a miniscule percentage in a country of billion. On the other hand there are many who are proud Tamil, kannadiga, Haryanvi, Bengali, Punjabis, Jatts, Jaats, Bramhins, reddies, kammas, kapus, christians and muslims... just not proud Indians. This is because India as a country is just 60 years old and prior to that we were never a uniform race like Britan, Germany, China or Japan and the last time we had self rule was atleast several centuries back, the memory of which has been erased over the generations. The caste system ensured that not all people in the society are equal and colonialization ensured that there is no pride left in us and we have to live with that.

While the biggest strength of India is its unity in diversity, it is also its biggest weakness. There are many who are trying to exploit this weakness and break our country. Imagine what the country would have been like if the billion of us were of one color, one caste, one religion! Sadly we are not and we have to work within this limitation towards prosperity. The next best thing to not being one color, one caste, one religion is to be rich. Morals, ethics, respect etc would come on their own once we are all rich.
May the Fries be with you!
