Malaysia pays 18Rs/ litre where as India is paying 48Rs. How come Malaysian government able to take the bullet and not ours? Is it Malaysia has a very rich economy? Any thoughts?

if u look at that data, the difference is stark only with malaysia and to some extent, the US. the other countries are priced close to India or even much higher (esp in Europe).



even the % of increase in india is very low: just 3%



in malaysia the fuel seems to be heavily subsidised by the govt., which is not an intelligent thing to do in india where lots of things are subsidised and are a drain in the economy.
