Dual Citizenship (both USA & India)

I heard that India lets its citizen to be also the
citizen of USA.Is this true ? Has it become law ?
Kindly clarify if somebody knows for sure

As of yet the Govt of India has not permitted dual citizenship with the United States.

Govt of India and Govt of USA have agreed on dual citizenship. Paper work and routine formalties are pending.
As of now, clerical staff have not received the procedures and hence, if we ask them, the answer is NO.
