Well... they used to use paper I guess... and the telephone... and the balcony (in lieu of chatting and flirting online)... there was the chai which still is... I really don\'t know buddy... I was born in the professional world with a mouse in my hand (no double entendre there!!!)...

I think at that time they will hook-up with the telephones, gossip and disturb fellow employees and time pass in the company canteens or they always think how they can make money with delaying files of needy people.
Imagine typing lengthy documents using typewriters, preparing complex worksheets manually, no electronic data bases, cardex system for inventories, cyclostyling for photocopying etc. etc...... where was the time to chat and tele-con....... poor souls, they probably were bizee whole day!
All the points are valid untill now,, but there are few more 2 comment. Like they are very particular about PENS(Brand, Refill Colour etc etc. ) , TIFFINS , DESKS , CHAIRS , WRITING PADS ,NEWS PAPERS & Cabinets.
Visit any of the Govt offices in a district - recently I have been to a Govt Health Department in a closeby district and am sure a visit there would answer your question.

ok suzamen, what all i can imagine about those employees w/o internet is that, it was probably very difficult for them to really pretend that they are working, and we are SO lucky, because of internet...we are ALWAYS working
