But political mileage is one thing.

The rift between Sangh Parivar and BJP.
The gradual shift of masses towards a third front.
The peace process with Pakistan for a stabler South Asia.
The think tank of the sangh musta thought, "hmm kya hum diwana hoon, yeh sub kuch hojaye aur hame kuch na mile."
"Chalo Ayodhya taaja karte hain, phir ek cahl chalte hain"

One "missed" attack. No damage done.
All issues resolved. Whipped up enough passion. The peace process in jeopardy, enough media attention to rant and rave about.
Looks like a pucca sangh receipe.

Yeah right.

If ^^ had indeed been True, then it would be a Big Big Blow to the BJP and Sangh Parivar if the truth is found out.As CAD Said,The Party in Power will Leave No Stone Unturned to Show that the Opposition was Responsible for the Incident.

No matter How Hushed-Up or Secretive Might their Plans be,Investigative Agencies are Bound to Uncover the Truth Sooner or Later. When th People Never Underestimate them,It would be Foolhardy on the Part of Advani,Who has been a Home Minister,to think that Nothing would be Found out and Whoever Behind the Attack would be Safe!

IMO,The Attack was an Extremist Act which has Played nicely into the Hands of the BJP n Sangh Parivar and they Just Hype up the Issue to Sweep their own Burning Issues under the Carpet.

P.S:Though My Two Posts may Seem Diametrically Opposite,This One's My Opinion and the Earlier One was What I've been Hearing around.

If what DQ anna says is true then in the future we may see a coalition govt. consisting of Congress and BJP and backed by VHP.

Surely, if the BJP/VHP/RSS is behind the attack then the congress govt. will b the first to let us know abt. it.

I used to care, but things have changed.

Exactly! If you and I can see throught it, then advani can too. I mean BJP is a freaking national party for f*ck's sake and no party would involve itself in such anti-national behaviour.

And it really surprises me that none of you think that pakistan could have been involved in it!! aaah... stupid me, I always forget that the blame always lies with us, pakistan is pious... we have a peace fu*king process going on

I thought that this needs to be mentioned.

The London blasts followed the Ayodhya blasts. And what saddened me was that the Indian news channels gave London more footage than what happened in Ayodhya. I do not know to whose gallery the media is playing to but it certainly is not mine.

Why should Terrorism be perceived more seriously if it strikes the Western world? Is India's having lost over 120, 000 people In Kashmir over the last ten years any less tragic than what happened in London or New York? Why do we underplay our tragedies and overplay theirs?

When I saw the news on TV, I thought maybe hundreds or thousands died. All my colleagues in the media department in my office were watching the news on C-SPAN. At the end of the day, when I got home, I saw my desi roomies glued to the TV and then I saw the number.. 37... what the hell?? Whenever Pak militants attack India, it is news for one or two days and thats it.

I remember many incidents in various parts of Asia and Africa where Americans or British are involved and the news reporters literally kick the others to the background. Something like this a few years back that prevented me from ever going to ccn.com again - "A fire in a Manila hotel injured a California man ... blah blah.... his biography and about the reaction from his folks back in San Deigo... blah blah.. " and in the end, a small note "... also 12 Filipinos were killed in the incident".

Yes, thats what bothers me too; the Indian media goes gaga whenever anything "bad" happens to the west and don't care much when worse things happen in India.

case to the point...in the Times of India website today, there is no report on the latest development in Ayodhya attack case.

...and the latest update in today's Indian Express is that they have identified (with help of the taxi drivers) that the language the attackers used to converse among themselves as Arabic...and they have unearthed that they have come via nepal with help of some clues. now they are working on the markings on their weapons and the origin of the t-shirts they were wearing...

they "gun wielding persons" (NOTE, not terrorrists) were speaking some foreign language, not Indians, atleast one is from upper kashmir/POK, came via nepal, stayed at a Akbarpur(?) politicians place, carried a SP party flag on the Jeep they hired, could be pakistani sponsored terrorrists, musharraf 'may' not have known it, could be a splinter group which doesnt take commands from PA, could be that the intelligence leads Indian agencies got came from paki establishment itself, the driver of the jeep is changing his story everyday yada yada yada... too many details which Times of Islamabad doesnt cover. The one civilian that died in the bomb blast has became so insignificant that no news agency even want to find out his name.

On the other hand, it is being suspected that British born Pakis planned and executed the bomb attacks on London. There are several 'alleged militant' sleeper cells within london ready to carry out 'bomb attacks', most of the members are well educated british pakis in the age group of 20 - 30.

ps: Note that in the true spirit of BBC and other western news sources which term terrorrists that attack India as 'alleged militants' etc, I am not terming london bomb attacks as terror attacks.

Advani's boycott still stays centre stage ?

May be this has missed your attention

Ayodhya attack: Six persons detained

July 11, 2005 19:46 IST

Police picked up six persons, including four of a family, formerly associated with the banned Students Islamic Movement of India, from Faizabad in connection with the terror attack on Ramjanmabhumi complex in Ayodhya, official sources said on Monday.

While two former SIMI members Dr Mohammed Ahmed and Kamil alias Kajjan were detained from the Lalbagh area on Sunday and released after questioning, two others Zameer and Tanveer were picked up from the same area on Monday and were being interrogated, they said.

The four had earlier been arrested during a crackdown on the banned SIMI a few years ago and were acquitted by a local court only 3 months back.

Two more persons Qadir and Asif were also picked up for questioning but released after sometime, the sources said.

Another member of the same family Aqil was allegedly involved in the sensational bomb blast in Sabarmati Express train at Roza railway station in Faizabad in the year 2001.

Earlier, Police had arrested four persons in Ambedkarnagar district on Sunday where the terrorists had reportedly stayed for some time before they came to Ayodhya for the attack on July 5.

Meanwhile, interrogation of Rehan, the driver of the jeep used in the attack and Rajkumar, driver of the taxi, hired by the terrorists, was underway.
