Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose insulted

Luckily Yesterday night i got the chance to see the movie Bose - The Forgotten Hero.

This is a GREAT effort by the great director Shyam Benegal.

He has brought more unknown facts to us.

Director has nicely shown the difficulty faced by Bose entering in to Germany.

The director has nicely shown the arrogance with which Adolph Hitler talked to Nethaji.

Hitler had told to Nethaji that British had civilized Indians.

This is terrific... Sorry terrible.

See, Hitler was the No 1 enemy of the British, Still he has considered that British rule had civilized the Indians.

On second count the director has nicely shown how cunningly the Japanese had backstabbed Bose in critical time.

Finally he has shown how sadly the INDIAN NATIONAL ARMY was defeated.

At one point of the movie Bose was instructing to one of his commanders
to reemploy 300 South Indians, who were Court Marshaled earlier and telling him to engage them as Guerilla soldiers. This should have not been mentioned in that movie. This is of Bad taste.

Unfortunately there was not much crowd in the Cinema theatre.

Whats the title got to do with the bose movie? What insult are u talking about?

At one point of the movie Bose was instructing to one of his commanders
to reemploy 300 South Indians, who were Court Marshaled earlier and telling him to engage them as Guerilla soldiers. This should have not been mentioned in that movie. This is of Bad taste.

why?

I think getting court marshalled is an insult. More than insult.
The director should not have mentioned about particular class. (South Indians)

In the critical moments of the battle, Japan who should have helped INA (Indian National Army) nicely betrays INA mentioning INA as not a worthy army to fight with.

what is your problem?

There are two ways to look at it. If you are an ardent Netaji fan, then it should not matter to you what people say about him. We have this saying in Hindi, which rudely translated which means 'Elephants do not bother about barking dogs when they are walking'.

If you are not a Netaji fan, then why should it make any difference to what is being said?

In this country we have the right to free speech. And everyone has the right to express themselves freely.

if thats wat hapnd in history, whats wrong in mentioning it? its a fact that Netaji started his INA with soldiers who were captured by Nazis or deserters from the Allied army. dunno abt the south indian connection, but i am sure Benegal wud not have mentioned it unless it was a fact - maybe most of the first group of INA recruits were Southies...

hitler did feel contempt for Netaji and its a fact. how is this movie insulting Netaji by showing what hitler or the japs actually felt abt him?

there was nothing insulting abt Netaji in the situations u mentioned.

u sound like the Forward Bloc politicians whose main grouse against the movie is that it shows Netaji falling in love and marrying. he is a human being for God's sake... :roll:

No, the 600 south indian soldiers of INA were not courtmarshalled, in fact Netaji at one point even says "South Indians are not kind of people who start the fight without being provoked". But they were put under suspension, and that is because of the golden rule in any military force "Insubordination cannot be tolerated"

I would not say Japan betrayed INA, What would you do if your house itself is bombed when you are helping someone ? You cant be blamed for not being able to continue the help.

I am Netaji fan, but facts are facts....and without seeing the movie, I am sure Bengal would have done justice to the subject...
