Road Crossing a hazard.

by L.R.Venkateswaran » Tue Mar 15, 2005 3:54 pm

It is very hard and difficult to cross roads, junctions and important

places in the city, bus stand, railway stations etc. especially for senior

citizens and people have to wait many minutes or hours to cross the

road and reach their destination. There is no proper crossing for

commuteers at Lakdikapool who reach through MMTS to go to Secretariat

or near DGP's office or in the turning to Mehdipatnam Road. What

action the authorities should take to make crossing easy to pedestrians? :( :( LRV)

More than for authorities, its we, the citizens of "The Great Republic of India" who have to take some action.

As drivers/riders ourselves

Authorities have written "Be Pedestrian Friendly", how many of us are actually Pedestrian Friendly ? how many of us do slow down when we see someone trying to cross the road, instead of trying to speed up and cross them before they cross OR make a swing and sped away ?

As pedestrians ourselves

Authorities have painted zebra crossings on the road, but we have always assumed that zebra crossings are made for zebras and we cross like donkeys.

There is a lot that we got to do, than blame the system / authorities mayte. Lets wake up each day and promise to ourselves that

"I am not going to violate a traffic rule, even if I see someone else doing it".

Thats enough. just keep the promise
Let's get out of these wet clothes and into a dry Martini.

that ^^^ is one of the problems....ppl on 2wheelers drive slowly and casually in the middle of the road and make over taking impossible, unless the person on the vehicle behind blasts the horn like crazy...or try over taking from the left, which is wrong

two wheeler riders have to understand that if they want to go slow, they shud do so at the side of the road...not in the middle
