Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

Dear Mods

We would like to have the edit button facility too please. :D

Thank you!

Akidna :D

Dear Akidna:

Originally we felt that this feature might lead to occasional discontinuity in topics, and therefore coded things in a certain way. Now, it's going to take a lot of recoding :). However, we will introduce this feature in the next version of fullhyd.com, to be out in April.

The good thing about this site is the amazing response from the moderators /owners of this website, they respond to each and every message addressed to them, trying to build a loyal customer base I guess..

Am I the only one who thinks edit facility is not required...

If people keep altering what they have posted it will be a mess. How will this feature work?

na, i think there is no specific need for an edit button. as a matter of fact, it ll actually ruin the fun... like how people remove the shouts from the SIO

i think the Edit button shud be available only for a very limited duration after a post. one shud not be allowed to edit a post long after posting it and getting many replies too.
wtf? i no longer care if my posts hurt yr feelings

I just realized, having the edit function will cut down our spam, no more mono-syllabic "typo " replies

I second this.

The reason being that people will deny saying things that have created a furore.

To illustrate my point - Lets say I give maa-bhain gaalis to a particular member........after a few hours (when I'm confident he's read it) when he's replied with his own gaalis, I'll edit my post and complain to the mods that this person was abusing me, thereby leading to his ban.

Hence NO EDIT FEATURE

Dear Mods

I appreciate that you responded so quickly to our request for the edit button facility.I look forward to the new feature in the next version of fullhyd.com.

I have another suggestion for those who think that the edit facility is not required for whatever reasons.I have seen in some other forums and would suggest that there be an option given to the creator of a thread to allow people to edit their posts in their threads.

Regards,

Akidna :D

PS: have you ever given a thought to adding a quick reply box

Another idea would be to give the edit function only to certain members based on their postcount or quality of content.

Also if you can keep a tab on the posts that were deleted you can pinpoint people who use the button for the wrong reasons and remove their edit rights.
