Interesting interesting read...

I also noticed that none of the females members of the db commented on the tech stuff, is that a stereotype of some sort? I hope not!

Allright, Crtl bhai...after your pareshani, I did some research:

General Knowledge & Research

http://www.ecoustics.com/Home/Home_Thea ... ter_Links/

Compare systems and prices (US)

http://www.dealtime.com/xGS-home_theatre_system

It does exist! A Home Theater Magazine

http://www.hometheatermag.com/

Hope this helps & Good Luck,

Jaan

i dont think its coz of techie stuff...i have noticed that females are usually not interested in things like home theaters, audio/video systems etc. its always the males who take gr8 pride in owning things like these and love showing em off too...:D
in my family itself only my dad, uncle and I are mad abt these things. my wife n mom dont care much abt it. all i get frm them is "oh! is it?" or "great!"

when will the first movie fest happen?
People are crazy, at times are strange. I am locked-in tight, I am out of range.
I used to care, but things have changed.

Pioneer is good, but it is not so great in HT. Their main area is Car Audio

latest news: i have postponed any purchase by a month! instead of buying something in a hurry, i plan to wait a month more so that i may be able to stretch my budget n buy the best i can afford. in the meantime i plan to make my living room "Home-Theater enabled" by installing conduits for surround spkr wires and if possible have sound absorption material on walls etc till whatever level possible!

I saw a show on TV, dont remember which channel. On that they covered the wall with 'kabutar jaali', plastered on top of it with clay and embedded clay diyas in wet plaster.

That room had a door without shutters and ventilator, they closed that too. Basically made it a closed room. That gave good sound effects.
Let's get out of these wet clothes and into a dry Martini.
