firstly, if u work for a fairly big company (which i suppose u do) yr HR/Admin guys wud have contacts with brokers who can get u a comfortable and convenient house in a jiffy...else, we are there with our input!

about rent....well....it depends on location....it will be meaningless if i give u area names now since u obviously wont remember it when u r here. get here first.

having own vehicle wud be comfortable, but not mandatory. but if u do have a vehicle, take your time to get used to the (lack of) traffic rules in hyderabad.

...and most important, do not talk ill of hyderabad in hyderabad...u can point out faults alrite, but........:|

...and take everything laaaaaaait....in the hyderabadi way. once u r here, u'll understand what it means. :D

I do believe the flats come with the basic fittings that u've got used to in pune and mumbai.

i plan to buy a car when i land up there but donot know if driving 15-20 kms each way everyday makes sense... i hope most companies provide shared taxis or fixed interval buses.

most of the companies in the hitech city area do provide pick up services for there employees so u will not have ne problems with that.

U can also add jubilee hill to that list.

Accomadation : Stretch between Vijaynagar Colony to Ameerpet. Begumpet to Hi tech should be safe enough.

Rent for a two to three bedroom apartment 6000 to 35,000 depends on your inkling.

Beware of some of the pockets in between, always have a look at the neighbourhood before signing in.

Travel : Having your own is a good option. Depends on what your shifts are. If you are working 9 to 5 travelling to Begumpet may take well over a hour and a half.

Again if you go for the shared taxi, it would take the same amount of time peak and off peak hours.

Food: Poocho math no better place then hyd Rs 5 to .... depends! you get a plate / stomach full.

Hangouts : Donno its been 3 years now. Heard a lot of places have come up. Most of the FHDBIANS should be able to help you. Dont go by what Malakpet masala aka Lizard king aka Le chachal aka dethslut tells you as its been over wo years since hes out of hyd too. I would say go by what Kavitha - CAD - Akhil have to say.

most of the apartments come with wardrobes etc, tho u can also find some that dont...

apart from what akhil said, u can easily identify the regulars by their post count and title :D 8) when u too start posting regularly, you too wud be able to identify the regs :D
jatt_mast_kalandar wrote:good areas for me would be Ameerpet, Banjara hills, begumpet, panjagutta.....
u can also add Kondapur to your list. its abt 5kms from hitech city and easily accessible.
jatt_mast_kalandar wrote:i plan to buy a car when i land up there but donot know if driving 15-20 kms each way everyday makes sense...
u better think of getting a vehicle after experiencing and getting sorta used to the mayhem that passes for traffic here...
jatt_mast_kalandar wrote:i hope most companies provide shared taxis or fixed interval buses.
yes...most IT/ITES companies do and that wud solve yr commute problems. but if u want to get out on weekends or something u need to rely on friends or public transport like auto ricks (who politely rip you off) and busses (good service but crowded in peak hours)
DQ wrote:...Malakpet masala aka Lizard king aka Le chachal aka dethslut ...
Le Chacal is another person DQ! :D
