Well, she couldnt be treated in US because the Insurance guys only covered the chemo part and not the translplant. So she left for India and with the money she had in her trust she was treated in chennai for 6 months and the chemo theraphy showed results. She was allowed to leave the hospital and she started looking for a job and prepared for MBA for one year. Everything was fine and suddenly one day she became sick and was admitted in hospital and in a month she died. No one expected her death... we all thought she will be cured just like the last time. :(
May the Fries be with you!

Mr. Venkatesh Passed Away :(

And MArk. I believe this is a different issue as compared to the suicide thing.

only if you support 1 right but not the other. i believe euthanasia should be allowed for the same reasons i outlined in the other thread for suicide.
I think they r two different things Mark. A fit and healthy person contemplating suicide is wrong, IMO. But when it comes to a person practically dead, but surviving thru a life support system I guess the same rules do not apply...

i'm not taking about pulling the plug on someone who's brain dead, i'm talking about a critically ill patient making the decision to stop enduring the pain when chances of having any sort of life after treatment are slim. this is the sort of euthanasia that usually stirs up contraversy. and it's suicide, basically. (difference is it's for physical reasons rather than phycological (why can i never spell that right?) ones)

a person cld b critically ill....but not psychologically ill.
People are crazy, at times are strange. I am locked-in tight, I am out of range.
I used to care, but things have changed.

what i meant was in the case of euthanasia the person no longer feels he can live for physical reasons, like the pain.

with suicide the person no longer feels they can live for psychological reasons, like extreme sadness.

I agree there are differences between suicide and euthanasia, such as the sadness will probably go away (no guarentee of that though, for some people the world is hell) whereas the pain will only end in death anyway.

What i said in my original post was that i wouldn't condemn anyone who wants to die, my reasons are the same whether it's from physical pain or mental pain. (i'm not explaining myself very well but ya know what i mean)
