Death!!

by Srinu » Sat Apr 05, 2003 10:51 pm

i fear death. not my own death, but the death of a near and dear one. i recently lost a cousin who was pretty close to me. and i cant come to terms with the fact that i will no longer be seeing him. and then i remember some of the things i said to him in recent times and wish i hadnt said that. and some things that i didnt and now wish i had told him. so everytime u say something harsh to someone close to you.. remember that u might not get a chance to undo what u just said.. and u may not get a chance to say somethings u might want to .. but just couldnt.

hi srinu, I understand your feelings.. but one should remember that everyone has his day, which will end his life. This is the fact. And you know another fact \"REAL LIFE STARTS AFTER HE DIES\"

Srinu, don\'t feel guilty. Birth and death are about KARMA. You have not done any thing to be a cause for his demise. Only he is responsible for his fate. Cheer up!

Pray for him as well as for you, this is the only ultimate option you have and keep this as a lesson throughout your life.

Death is one of the harsh facts of life. I am sorry that you lost your cousin. You should think of all the good times you had with your cousin and be thankful that you spent all that time with him. Just thinking of those good times will make you smile. Say a prayer for him and hope to see him again in the next world.

The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.
-Harriet Beecher Stowe

How true! As many say, everything happens according to wise and just divine laws which give us the lessons we need for our spiritual evolution. Srinu, may be, for some reason, it was best for your cousin to move on to another level of existence and for you to continue on here, without him or her. In general, loss of a loved one is not related to guilt or punishment but, is instead, a great opportunity for inner growth. And one can, even after a dear one\'s death, can correct the relationship with their loved ones with inner communication and may be prayer.

And here is a gem (a native American proverb):
When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.
Live you life in a manner so that when you die the world cries and you rejoice.

Death is inevitable. The truth is that we forget everything at a certain moment in time... our mind will take over our conscience and will make us think about the priorities set for ourselves... this sounds selfish... but the fact is... we are a fish swimming in water in search of a so called \"self\" (identity).

Hi Srinu, I\'m sorry to hear about your bereavement... I lost a very close friend to brain haemorrage when I was in the 12th standard. Yeah, it was traumatic. I\'d spend nights crying. Only time heals those wounds... I still think of her sometimes. There are so many questions left unanswered. I know it\'s easier said than done, but u should be grateful that u met somebody like him. Take heart and pray for him...
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right.
