My best friend met her match online through mutual friends, the online romance blossomed into something more meaningful when they both met in person.



They both make a beautiful couple, well, him being a part time model helps too! Plus, their relationship survived all the long distance (he lives in pakistan) and all the family drama.



I am happy to announce that they are going to be married next winter.



I do believe in long distance relationship, I myself had one but as to online? hmm, still a bit hesistant in that arena.



But, it works out for some, great!

The net is a very good medium to get to know people better...provided there is honesty in the relationship. There might be too many success stories in the air but remember that for every success story, there will be atleast 10 unhappy endings. People tend not to be too vocal about an online relationship gone sour because of the scorn they may face from others...as online romance is still considered an immature and naive thing to be involved in.



The positive aspect of a long distance relationship, again with the honesty and commitment rider, is that there is a lack of physical intimacy which makes the couple come out closer in the emotional aspect of the relationship. I don't mean to say that people cannot come emotionally closer in other relationships, but the subtle mix of openness and privacy in an internet relationship makes this much easier.



The reason why a majority of the internet relationships fail is that the couple involved becomes euphoric over the emotional closeness attained during the online exchanges and expects the same level of closeness for eternity, which, for a human being is not that easy unless he/she is mentally metallic.



Anyways, wishing luck to all those couples who met over this wonderful medium. And those who ended up scarred....life's not ended yet...and life's beautiful....don't waste it over something that's past...move on.
