I think love in any context - parental, romantic, friendship, is about the same things. It is about caring deeply for another while allowing, nay celebrating, the loved one\'s individuality; about giving room to grow; about offering complete trust and; about negotiation and problem solving together.

Love changes everything. Days are longer, Words mean more. Love changes everything. Pain is deeper than before.

Zohaib bhai.,
I think you are supposed to write your own ideas but not terribly get influenced by some so called esoteric forum \'Promethean Assembly\'. Although I\'m highly impressed by this analytical essay, I still have my own doubts about this kind of metaphysical approach to things which are rather abstract.
A simple suggestion, when you post something which is not your original thought, there is no harm in stating the derived source.

For this time I\'ll take the effort. For people who want to know more about the source of derivation see URL[ http://www.firegod.org/love.htm ]

No offends to be taken please.

Hey guys, everybody is talking about brighter side. How about seeing it from grim point of view? Comments appreciated

In my opinion, the only true sign of love, in the romantic sense, is if you know everything tere is to know about the other person, sordid past and terrible faults included, and STILL want to be with him or her more than anything else. There are downsides to this feeling, of course: the loss of independence, the possible alienation of everyone else, the potential dependence on that person for one\'s happiness, and the disctinct possibility for intense unhappiness and sorrow... Everything has it\'s disadvantages. Why should love be any different?

When my parents asked me to come back from play and study, I thought - are they my real parents? They don\'t like to see me enjoying. When my sibling hit me for fighting with a friend, I cursed her. Very often, I thought why am I here, in this house. But still, something is binding us together... What?

And what is it called between two classmates/collegemates who just are happy with good body chemistry, but who haven\'t talked much and still believe that they can both together do anything in this world? INFATUATION. Don\'t say Love starts with good body chemistry and infatuation, heard enough of that crap!!

I wouldn\'t say \'it starts\'. I\'d say \'it could start\'. If two people are together and interact with each other for a while, it\'s natural that they get to know each other better. If it so happens that, inspite of knowing each other well, their attraction is still there, and includes emotional attraction as well, who\'s to stop it from turning into love? Love can arise out of the most unlikely of circumstances. One just has to keep an open mind...

Love is rare to experience, except in case of Parents and ones like Mother Teresa.
In all other cases it is give and take. (In naked terms, it\'s also Business!!!)

Love and other emotions are just chemical reactions in your brain and the feelings of aggression are the absence of the love drug in your veins...

Technically, you are correct. However, if you look at that argument objectively, anything that we think and feel is a direct result of chemical reactions that happen in the brain... And I disagree that if the \'love drug\', as you call it, is absent, feelings of agression follow naturally. Even anger requires chemical reactions. But, philosophically, whatever it is that love is, what counts ultimately is the intimacy and friendship two people share. \'Love\' dies, \'chemistry\' dies, so you have to make sure there\'s something left...

Love itself is a definition. The nature exists with love and without that you can find the world wars. To stop war the solution is love.

Love is sweet and sour. You can\'t expect anything else in love. When your dear one is not around, it causes pain. You may see many beautiful faces around, but the pain and the wait will be only for that particular guy/gal you are in love with. Love is God's gift to us. had it not been for love, we would have no moral values, no society, no parents or family.
