When the Telangana Legislative Council session happens on September 27, Thursday, it will mark a first given that there will be no Assembly session in parallel. As readers are aware, the Telangana Assembly was dissolved on September 6.
Governor E S L Narasimhan called for the Council to meet for its 10th session on September 27 at 11 am. It will be a one-day session.
Though it is customary for the Business Advisory Committee to hold a meeting to decide the schedule for the Council meeting, sources said that the House will wind up after just paying condolences to departed leaders.
The House, sources said, is to condole the deaths of late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, former minister Manemma, MLC Nerella Venumadhav, and other leaders who died.
