Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today stated that he was not in any hurry to form his cabinet.
When the media sought to know about the possibility of a cabinet expansion by the end of December or in the first week of January, he said that there was no hurry.
"The Assembly is in place and the MLAs are in power. There is no hurry to form the cabinet," he said.
"The cabinet will have new faces and also some from the previous regime who performed well. Those who failed to perform will not get berths," he said.
The Chief Minister also said that some new MLAs would also be accommodated in nominated posts.
Speculation is that the TRS boss is giving time to Congress MLAs to defect to his party so that the strength of the Congress in the Assembly falls to below 12 from the current 19, which would deprive the Congress of the main Opposition party status.
