Rythu Bandhu Benefiting Realtors, Landlords: Kodandaram

The Telangana Jana Samithi chief alleged that realtors and landlords were benefiting from the Rythu Bandhu scheme instead of the most deserving farmers.
Hyderabad | 6th June 2018
Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) chief M Kodandaram today alleged that real estate businessmen and landlords were benefiting from the Rythu Bandhu scheme instead of the most deserving farmers.

Speaking to the media at the party office today, Kodandaram said that several mistakes had occurred in the land records' purification, leading to injustice to many farmers.

He also said that some powerful political leaders had usurped lands from the poor, and were now benefiting from the government's largesse.

His cadre would take up studies in the villages on the irregularities taking place and stage dharnas in front of the collectorates seeking solutions to the irregularities, he said.

He also demanded that the state government extend help to the tenant farmers, who didn't have pattas but were the ones actually cultivating the lands.

Separately, controversial writer Kanche Ilaiah called upon tenant farmers to pay Rs 4,000 per acre lesser to the owners of the lands.

He said that since KCR was denying the cheques under Rythu Bandhu to the tenant farmers, they should deduct the appropriate amounts from what they needed to pay their land owners.

Ilaiah claimed that the lands in the hands of large landlords now were originally distributed by the communists to the poor.
