Rebel Congress MLA Rega Kantha Rao, who represents the Pinapaka Assembly constituency of Telangana, on Friday said that he would resign from his post and contest as a TRS candidate from the same seat.
Clarifying that he was still officially with the Congress, he said that he would resign from the primary membership of the party and from the MLA post.
He said that the development of his constituency would be possible only under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He claimed that he was disgusted with the restrictions imposed by the Congress leaders on him, and that that had led him to decide to quit the party.
