Telangana Governor E S L Narasimhan today patted the state government for its "focus on providing the best health services to the people".
Along with Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy, the Governor visited the Telangana Diagnostic Central Lab at Narayanaguda and appreciated the laboratory arrangements and the "latest equipment" in place. He said that Telangana's health department was no 1 in the country in developing hospitals, and that it was taking great initiatives for the people's health. He said that he would visit the Basthi Dawakhanas (locality hospitals), too, soon.
The Governor also said that the maintenance of the mortuaries would be finetuned to enhance their quality. He expressed hope that after all the work by the health department, there would be no breaking news in any news channels on government hospitals any more.
Narasimhan also used the occasion to slam the Opposition for its comments against him.
"The Opposition leaders indulge in making derogatory remarks against me whatever I do," the Governor said. "These leaders, especially V Hanumantha Rao, make ridiculous comments against me even if I visit a temple," he lamented.
