The much awaited L B Nagar - Ameerpet stretch of the Hyderabad Metro will be launched in August, according to Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director N V S Reddy.
He told mediapersons that they were conducting electricity tests for the route now. He said that the trail runs would be completed by July, and the trains would start running from L B Nagar to Ameerpet in August.
Trains on the Ameerpet - Hitech City route would start in October, and on the JBS-MGBS route would start in March next year, he added.
The HMRL MD said that land acquisition works in the Old City for the Metro were going on. He also said that all the major routes would be linked to the airport in the second phase of the works.
As many as 80,000 people were using the Metro every day, Reddy said.
