Congress Ticket Aspirant's Wife Attempts Suicide

Hyderabad | 15th November 2018
Intense drama akin to that in a Telugu movie was witnessed in front of rebel Congress party leader Edavalli Krishna's house in Kothagudem on Thursday.

The wife of Krishna, Susheela, tried to immolate herself by pouring kerosene on her body as she was upset by the decision of the party to deny the ticket to her husband.

The Congress leadership had allotted the ticket to former minister Vanama Venkateswara Rao instead of to Krishna.

Incidentally, Krishna and Rao are co-brothers.

The incident took place when the sons of Vanama came to the residence of Krishna to pacify and convince him. However, the supporters of Krishna did not allow them to meet the discontented leader. On seeing her nephews, Susheela got angry and made the bid to immolate herself. The supporters around her however foiled her bid.
