A delegation of IT and business experts from Korea touring Telangana on Thursday appreciated the various IT initiatives implemented by the state government to provide better services to the people.

The Korean team is on a visit to the state to study the role of IT in dispensing public utility services. Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) facilitated the visit and the interactions of the team with government officials.

As part of their visit, the delegation visited T-Hub, T Fibre, JNTUH, TSPSC and Mee Seva centres, and interacted with the heads of the various institutions and enquired about the initiatives being taken up by them. They also interacted with IT commissioner G T Venkateshwarlu, IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan and other important officials.

The members, part of a research institute in South Korea, will soon submit a report of their visit to the Korean government, with recommendations for possible interactions with the Telangana government in terms of collaborations in providing IT services and sharing of technology.

Shedding light on the visit, TITA global president Sundeep Kumar Makthala said that the delegation had shown keen interest on working with the Telangana government in the coming days.

Efforts would be made to facilitate knowledge sharing in the area of cyber security between Telangana and Korea in the future, Makthala added, and thanked IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan and other officials for responding positively to the initiative.
