Caretaker Chief Minister and TRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao filed his nomination for the Gajwel Assembly constituency before the returning officer in the RDO office in Gajwel today at 2:34 pm, reportedly the exact time fixed by his astrologers. The nomination was filed without much fanfare, in the presence of minister T Harish Rao and a few party supporters.
Earlier in the day, KCR followed his tradition of seeking the blessings of Lord Venkateswara at his favourite shrine in Konaipally. KCR, accompanied by Harish Rao and a few security personnel, placed his nomination at the feet of the Lord and offered special prayers. People of the village greeted him as he walked towards the temple from his vehicle.
Addressing the people later in Siddipet, KCR stated that Lord Venkateswara of Konaipally had been a great source of support for him in every battle he had fought so far. He said that the blessings of the deity had helped him overcome every major problem and attend to the needs of the state, and that if the newly formed Telangana had emerged as number one state in many aspects, it was due to the blessings of the Lord.
He exuded confidence that with the blessing of Lord Venkateswara, the TRS would sweep the polls and win more than 100 seats. He stated that the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project water would flow to the Siddipet constituency by 2019, and once the water reached the place, it would be used to perform abhishekam at the feet of the Lord.
KCR also assured the people that train services would be extended to the Siddipet constituency in the near future.
KCR urged the voters to elect minister Harish Rao with a majority of one lakh votes. Later, he proceeded to Gajwel to file his papers. It has been reported that KCR filed the nomination at Lord Venkateswara's birth star time and during the Kumbha lagnam. Vedic pandits are reported to have informed KCR that if he filed his nomination at that particular time, he would definitely achieve raja yoga again.
